"Life coaching with Cathy was exactly what I needed at this turning point in my life. From the beginning Cathy was nothing but gracious, relaxed, approachable, and engaging. Cathy asked thought-provoking questions, sometimes in areas of my life I hadn’t explored. She recognized what tools might be helpful for me and my personality, providing me with several options. Life changing! Because of coaching, I have transitioned into a new season of my life. I’m not sure what God has for me, but I am more fully aware of how to be more selective in opportunities and how to use my gifts and talents to navigate effectively."
"Taking the time and effort to participate in life coaching with Cathy was a valuable process for me. I was able to look at the big picture and the individual parts of my life and work toward putting it all together to help me stay focused, make better decisions, and reach my goals both personally and professionally. The tools that Cathy shared were relevant, helpful, and eye opening. It is comforting to know you have a life coach working with you that has you and your interests top of mind."
Struggling to find your footing as you go through a season of change?
Career upturns or downturns. New move. New job. New marriage or divorce. Empty nest. Retirement. Crisis.
We often resist change because we fear the unknown. Like Peter stepping off the boat in the Bible, we doubt God and want to cling to the good parts of what we enjoyed. We’re unaware there are going to always be new and different emotions and times of confusion.
What’s really needed for a successful transition is to be honest about how you feel, not ignoring the challenges (and joys) change always brings.
That’s where a dedicated life coach is invaluable. A coach will support you in hearing yourself, reviewing your vision, purpose and values. A coach will partner with you to reach a conclusion you can live with in the long term. A coach bolsters your resources and builds your capacity.
“Even as life is a series of changes, it is also a series of choices.”
Choose to conquer your life transition.
Hi! I’m Cathy Johnson –coach, writer, and speaker who specializes in navigating life change with clients, so their adjustments are easier, clearer, and purposeful. I offer clients the best tools and assessments to confidently move forward. My view of coaching is this:
You Are The Expert On You!
Coaching is a unique discipline that draws out what’s inside of you through a lot of listening and asking powerful questions. We find new perspectives and opportunities. I invite and empower you to find God’s plan for your relationships, career, and calling.
Before becoming a Certified Professional Life Coach (CPLC), I worked for over 30 years in a wide variety of (read: change) jobs within the communications, public relations, marketing, and education fields. Each time I got a new and mostly better position, inside I really longed for…well…a coach; someone to help me hear myself, sort out my strengths (and, gulp, weaknesses), and review my vision and values.
One steady force in my life has been my marriage to my husband for more than 40 years. We launched two (now) grown daughters into the world and have two grandchildren. One other accomplishment in the mix has been gaining a Master of Arts degree in Professional Writing—a passion of mine.
People make changes for one of two reasons—pain or passion.
In my case, the positive outlook and purpose I have today came in the form of pain.
In 2013 my husband and I experienced our most overwhelming life adjustment yet. After coming home from church, my husband’s legs suddenly gave way, and he slid down to the floor. Later we learned this trauma was due to his aorta collapsing and stopping the flow of blood to his legs. Surgery saved his life, but the ordeal left him paralyzed from the waist down—permanently. It left me shocked, numb, and paralyzed with fear. Once we recovered from our disbelief and grief, we realized we needed to face change in every nook and cranny of our lives.
Even though we’d been through change before, this adjustment to paraplegia required a whole new system of support and way of approaching life on every emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual level. Out of this need and desire, A New Season Coaching was born.
Even if your changes are along the traditional growth journey into adulthood, or you have a dream or passion just waiting to be fulfilled, coaching can help draw out your vision, your purpose and create a practical plan forward.
Or you may have experienced a surprising and sudden life reversal. Once the dust settles, you may be wondering, “what’s next?” A New Season Coaching can partner with you through your season of change.
